Sunday morning after returning from an early session at the park, I decided to get the girls involved in baking something for their lunch. I figured if they made something that they’d be more likely to eat it 🙂
So… we decided on pizza scrolls and organised all of our ingredients
We adapted the recipe to suit our taste(s) and had the following:
1.5 cups Self Raising Flour
30g unsalted butter
1/2 cup milk
corn kernels, onion, bacon, tomato paste & cheese
And of course our trusty ipad with the recipe!
First up we mixed the butter into the flour with our fingertips and then added the milk to form a dough
After kneading the dough we rolled it out to a rectangular shape and started adding our ingredients
After the tomato paste went on, the rest of the ingrediants followed in a flurry as it became a fight for any scraps (or in Molly’s case… also skimming some from the top 🙂 )
Next we rolled up the dough and quickly realised we had filled it with too much filling!
Not to worry! We carefully sliced it up and put it in the preheated oven (180 degrees).
It was at this time that the restraints were needed to stop someone from climbing onto the kitchen bench and eating the raw scrolls 🙂
After 25 min in the oven (and a few minutes to cool down) the scrolls were ready and were devoured immediately!
Finally…here’s a sneak peak of something I’m working on for a friend’s birthday coming up
