Party Bag Ideas: Cookies in a jar

I got this wonderful idea from the Bakerella blog and thought it would be great to put in the party bags for the kids at the party.

Basically, it’s all the ingredients you need to make some yummy cookies (you just have to add some butter and an egg). I thought it would be fun for the kids to take home and to encourage some baking in the house! (yep, sorry non-bakers :-) )

I’ve been collecting jars for a while (buying up plenty of tomato puree jars from Aldi and consequently, there have been plenty of tomato-based meals at my place over the last few months!), and I sterilised them and then covered them with the free labels from Bakerella.

And then I covered the lids with a label I made up myself

Next up, it was time to enlist my trusty little posers helpers to start measuring out the ingredients for the jars

Our ingredients (and the order of the layers) were:

 3/4 cup flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/8 teaspoon salt

smarties

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup castor sugar

I then covered the tops with some red gingham material and brown string, in keeping with the farmyard theme of the party
