I decided to make some decorated cookies for the carers at the gym creche and for a few friends I was catching up with.
Using a bunny cutter and an egg cutter and this recipe, I firstly cut out the cookies
After cooking and cooling the cookies, I made my royal icing and piped on my white outline
I then added water to my white icing to make it runnier so that I could fill in the cookie. I coloured some of it pink for the ears and after applying the white icing, I piped the pink icing into the runny icing.
As you can see, I over-filled a few of the cookies and they spilled over the sides. This generally happens to me, so always make a few extra cookies!
Next up we outlined and filled in our egg cookies.
We decided to make polka dot eggs, so while the icing was still wet, I piped in white dots using runny icing.
I gave the bunny cookies about 4-5 hours to dry and then piped on the cheeks
I let them dry overnight and then using edible pens, drew on the rest of the bunny’s face
Last step was to package them and hand them out!
