Easy Princess Cookies

Here is a simple way to make some personalised Princess Cookies – perfect for parties, favour bags, or just afternoon tea!

Start by rolling out your cookie dough and cutting out your princess crowns

Bake in a moderate oven (180 degrees) for about 12-14 minutes (some people like hard cookies, but I prefer them softer).

Once cooled, make your royal icing and outline the crown

Add some water to your icing to make it a runnier consistency and then fill in your cookies

Put your oven on the lowest setting and place cookies inside for an hour to dry, and then leave overnight to harden completely. You could also dry the cookies using a fan, but I prefer to leave them overnight to make sure the icing has well and truly set.

Next step is to write the names on the cookies… I used an edible marker, but you could also pipe on the name using royal icing.

Put a dot of royal icing on the tips of the crown and then cover with sanding sugar (this is easy to make – just mix white sugar and food colouring)
