It has been a weekend of parties and we have just returned from a 3rd birthday where the little girl Ally, was after a cake with ladybugs and butterflies. This is what I came up with…
The ladybug topper was made using rice bubbles mix (rice bubbles, marshmallows and butter) and moulded to a pudding bowl. I then used fondant to cover the body and make the face. The antennae was made using florist wire and a small black fondant ball.

I also made some chocolate cupcakes and sugar cookies for the party.

Bronnie the Lady Bug looks fantastic! Question, what quantities did you use to make your rice bubbles mix? Could be something we could use to make the towers for the castle birthday.
Thanks xo
Hey Karen!
I used the following quantities:
1/4 cup butter
3 cups mini marshmallows
6 cups rice bubbles
They would be perfect to use for the castle cake! Just ganache them once they have hardened before covering with fondant so it is nice and smooth

Are rice bubbles the same as rice crispies?
Yes, they are!
