I have attempted cake pops before, with little success, so when I found this recipe for TimTam cake pops on the Little Betsy Baker website, I decided to give them a go for a party we went to on the weekend.
These are SO easy to make and absolutely delicious, so I would encourage you all to make these a party food ‘staple’ going forward 🙂
Start by processing one packet of timtams and 80g of cream cheese (to make these cake pops I tripled the recipe.
Using a lollipop stick (which you can purchase from ebay, or from a cake decorating shop), make a hole in the cake balls.
Melt some white chocolate in the microwave. If it seems to harden too quickly, or it gets grainy, add some boiling water (in small lots) and stir to smooth.
I was difficult to take photos of the next step, but basically I melted more white chocolate, added my food colouring and then dipped the cake pops into the chocolate. I made sure they were covered in enough chocolate and then turned the cake pop around to let any excess chocolate drip off, before putting the cake pop on the baking tray.
Refrigerate another 30 mins until set
I also made some matching macarons – lots of food colouring in those! Was quite funny to see everyone with their blue mouths…
