Farm Cake Tutorial – The ducks and lamb

This is the first of a few tutorials designed to show you how I made this farm cake

To start with the duck pond, mix some blue and white fondant together to get a slight marbled effect.

Roll out and cut an oval shape

Marble some brown and white fondant and roll small balls of different shapes and sizes. Do not worry about having perfectly smooth balls as rocks are just that…. rocky!!!!

Attach to the outside of your pond using some water or edible glue.

Roll out a thin sausage of green fondant for the reeds, cut small strips and pinch together.

Leave to the side to dry

Use this tutorial to make the sitting duck, and to make the diving duck, roll out some yellow fondant into a cone shape and bend the end over slightly… a bit like a Santa or elf hat :-)

Make some legs out of orange fondant and set aside until they have become hard.

Attach the reeds and duck legs onto the pond/duck once hard with some water or edible glue.

To make the lamb, I used this tutorial.

    I’m not sure if you have a store called the “bulk barn” where you live but they have chocolate covered rocks that look exactly like real rocks, they would be perfect (and easy) to use around the pond! Great cake:)
