I thought I’d write up a tutorial for the ice cream lolly cake I made for Ava’s birthday
It was deeeeelicious….
To start with, I’d advise making the decorations in advance so that they have time to dry. I made mine about a week in advance and it meant it was really easy to assemble the cake (I think it took about 20 mins to decorate).
To make the lollies, roll out some fondant and also make a ball
Roll up the end of the flattened fondant to give the ‘ruffled wrapper’ look
Pinch it and then cut it to size and attach to your flattened ball

To make the truffle, roll out a ball of chocolate fondant, a tiny ball of red fondant and roll out some pink fondant and cut a zigzag pattern
Dab some water around the bottom of the chocolate ball and wrap the pink around the bottom, cutting it at the back so it fits nicely. Attach the red ball to the top.
I used my sugar shaper to make the lollipops (or you can use a clay extruder…or you could just roll out ‘sausages’ of fondant as I did for the Hungry Caterpillar Cake food)
To make the icecream cone topper I have…. wait for it….. (drum roll please)….. made a VIDEO TUTORIAL!!!!!
Gulp
Before you click on it… just be warned that it is my first video tutorial, so be kind! I will probably start doing a few video tutorials as I found when starting out that they helped me the most. And yes… I will lower the camera more and shoot it in landscape next time to avoid the black sides to the video

What a nice photo tutorial and I could listen to you talk all day! Great debut with the video tutorial and again, that cake is completely adorable.
Great Vlog Bron!! I hope to see MANY more!!!
