I made this cake for my daughter’s teacher during the last week of school this year.
Miss B is getting married in January in Hawaii, so we had a mock wedding celebration during the day and I was asked to make the wedding cake
Lily’s teacher loves the colour pink, and given life was CRAZY in the last few weeks of term, I went with a design that would give me maximum impact for minimal input.
This design is super easy, and best of all, you can premake the hearts in advance so that when the time comes, all you need to do is stick them in the right pattern.
The other benefit to this design is that the ganache and fondant covering job doesn’t really matter because it will be covered with the mosiac design. Everyone’s a winner!
Here’s a similar design that I did for my best friend a few months ago – note how the hearts are much smaller which = much more time sticking them on!
