It’s certainly been a while between cakes!! Apologies for the lack of posting. In March I made this Smurf cake for my daughter’s 7th birthday It is a very basic smurf figurine (note – no proper hands/feet etc) but I don’t think it was needed and it saved me a lot of time 🙂 Enjoy!

Towards the end of October my eldest daughter turned 8 (yikes – where did the time go?!!!) and she had a Pamper Party at The Zen Den (which I highly recommend to anyone in Melbourne). She had an amazing time with 11 other girls – they were treated to foot spas, manicures, face masks and pampered […]
I thought I’d write up a tutorial for the ice cream lolly cake I made for Ava’s birthday It was deeeeelicious…. To start with, I’d advise making the decorations in advance so that they have time to dry. I made mine about a week in advance and it meant it was really easy to assemble […]
Over the weekend it was my birthday which generally is exciting, however after a week of everyone else in the household being sick, it was not ideal to wake up the day before my birthday unwell 🙁 Unfortunately, it continued for the entire weekend and it’s only today that I feel like getting out of […]
Can you tell what the theme of the cake is? Here’s a better clue… yep, it’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar, because Molly is always hungry and eats about the same amount as an average adult 🙂 Lily has been busy creating her own version of Molly for the top of the cake
I recently made a birthday cake for a good friend of mine who was entering her dirty thirties 🙂 The cake was a two tiered vanilla mud cake, with an Italian Meringe Buttercream filling, and the decorations were all in pink, black and white. I know what you’re thinking…. ‘Why is there a random pig, […]
It was an early start to the morning today as I snuck out of bed to cover Ava’s cake before the girls all woke up. Unfortunately for me, they heard me and all got up at the crack of dawn. After opening the presents and having some buttermilk pancakes for breakfast, there was time to […]
I had a productive night last night, making some more fondant toppers for Ava and Molly’s birthday party. First up were some pigs in mud. Followed by some ducks in a pond I managed to finally take a pic of my 3 girls together. From left to right, Lily, Ava & Molly Bathtime for Molly!
Today was my nephew’s 7th birthday and the request was for a cake with sea creatures, so I decided on a nemo cake. Everything was edible… from the wooden sign, to the shells and nemo. My neice polished off a turtle upon arrival! I used edible pearls as bubbles and first impression moulds for the […]
I am absolutely thrilled with how this cake turned out.. especially as it is my second fondant-covered cake. It was my neice’s 4th birthday and she is obsessed with horses, so I decided to make a My Little Pony Cake and used the design by JennyWenny from Flickr The top tier is a white chocolate […]
