Moreover, they are low in fat but high in fiber, potassium, folate, manganese and zinc etc. This dish tastes great with chili powder which contains cumin seeds for spiciness along with red bell pepper for color and flavor enhancement besides adding health-giving properties like iron and calcium etc.
Addition of baking soda makes them soft without affecting the consistency or taste; this will make your dish look appealing as well as taste better too!.
When cooked , Baking soda gives a good brown color too.
How can I freeze
Before freezing any kind food; make sure that its frozen properly by leaving out only ¼ cupful so that when it gets frozen then we get around ½ cupful after taking out from freezer completely!
Also remember never add any kind ingredient or flavoring while preparing beans for freezing; only use water otherwise after sometime beans will lose their color when kept for longer period.. After they are frozen completely remove them from freezer; put them into Ziploc bags (you can use any kind).
It’s important not to seal completely while putting into bags because once beans become completely frozen they become brittle; otherwise if we put into freezer they will stick together instead being frozen separately.. After adding ¼ cupful from original amount keep rest back in freezer until use; so as not even 1/4 cup gets wasted!
Always thaw them before using rather than having them thawed out before making this dish..
