Starbucks has been around for decades now but there are still questions about their milk selection.
Starbucks is known for its coffee and food offerings, but did you know that they also offer dairy options?
Yes, they do!
There are different types of milk offered at Starbucks including whole milk, 2% low fat milk, skimmed milk, soy milk, almond milk, rice milk, and oat milk.
In this blogpost I will discuss the differences between these various milks and how they affect our health.
What kind of milk does Starbucks have?
Starbucks has two kinds of milk available: whole milk and nonfat milk. Whole milk contains 3.25% fat while nonfat milk contains 1.5%.
Coconut milk is a thick liquid extracted from coconut meat. It is used in many dishes in Asian cuisine. In Thailand, coconut milk is called “nam phrik kaprao” น้ำพริกคับ. In Indonesia, coconut milk is known as “gula gajah” หมูขาว or “kacang merah” ของมะตรี, and in Malaysia, it is called “nata de cocos” นาทาดชุลสุด.
How much fat is present in the milk?
Fat content in milk varies from brand to brand. It depends upon how much butterfat was added during manufacturing process. Fat content in milk is measured in grams per 100 ml of milk. In case of skimmed milk, it contains no fat. Buttermilk contains 4% fat. Whole milk contains 3.5% fat. Skimmed milk contains 0.5% fat. Low fat milk contains 1.5% fat. Medium fat milk contains 2.5% fat. Full cream milk contains 3.5%. Double cream contains 6% fat. Creamy milk contains 5% fat. Half and half contains 3% fat.
Non-fat milk is a great way to get calcium into your diet. It contains no fat and is lower in calories than regular whole milk. However, non-fat milk does not taste quite as good as regular whole milk.
Soymilk is a great alternative to dairy milk because it contains no cholesterol, lactose, or casein. It is also lower in fat than other milks. It is also a good source of protein, calcium, iron, zinc, and B vitamins. It is also rich in fiber.
Whole milk contains 3.25% fat, while 2% milk contains only 1.5%. So if you want to drink whole milk, you need to consume more calories than if you were drinking skimmed milk. Skimmed milk contains no fat, but still has the same amount of protein and calcium as whole milk. It also has fewer carbohydrates.
2% milk is a low fat milk product. It contains about 2 percent of the total volume of milk. This means that it contains about 1/10th of the calories found in whole milk. It is usually used in baking recipes where a lower fat content is required.
